-
Do you provide discounts for school or non-profit events?Yes! We love helping schools and non-profit organizations making their events a success. We always provide a discount to such events, and in some cases, we will provide services without any charge whatsoever. Discounts, of course, are assessed on a case-by-case basis, but we will be happy to work with you to find the price that will work for your event.
-
Do you travel beyond the Palouse (Moscow/Pullman)?Yes! We've done events in neighboring towns like Colfax, Troy, and Potlatch, but we've also performed at a great distance in places like Couer d'Alene, and Boise. Travel costs are associated with any event that is beyond 25 miles of Moscow, but we are happy to work with you to perform at your event!
-
How much are your travel costs? Our travel costs start at $2.00 / mile, however, they are assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure that we will be able to perform for your event adequately. Contact us for more details!
-
What is the furthest you will travel?Travel is assessed case-by-case, but in general, we will not travel more than 10 hours in one direction. In general, if your venue is more than 10 hours drive from Moscow, Idaho, we will not be able to perform.
-
Will you perform at any venue? The answer is normally yes, but we'll note that there are a few event venues that have given us extreme ammounts of grief in the past, and as a result we've had to add a "venue surcharge" that adds to the total event cost. As of right now, of the 25+ venues we've performed at, there is only one venue that has accrued this surcharge, so contact us if you're concerned!
-
What genres of music do you have? There is so much music in the world, we'll be the first to note that we don't have everything, but we certainly try to do our best! Our library is primarily comprised of Pop, Rock, and Country, but we do have selections of Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Jazz, Instrumental, Orchestral, Holiday, Video-Game/Movie Score, and others. Contact us if you're not sure what we have! And check out our media page to listen to some samples for yourself.
-
How many songs do you have? The answer to this question changes every day. As of writing (Oct. 2019) we have more than 57,000 songs for you to chose from, and we add more music for every event.
-
Do you allow requests? What DJ doesn't? Of course we're happy to do our best in accomidating requests. Not every request can be serviced, as we don't always have the exact song in question, but we'll do our best!
-
Can I make requests before my event?Yes! For weddings in particular, we ask that the bride and groom provide what we call a "playlist" and "do-not-playlist" full of songs you do and don't want to hear. This will help us taylor our services to your tastes, and it will help us confirm that we have "your songs" before your event.
-
Can my guests make requests too?Absolutely! We can't always guaruntee to fill every request, but we'll do our best. We can accept requests in a number of ways durring the event. If you're interested, we can even give you a QR code that your guests can use to navigate to a web-based request system during the event! Ask us for more information!
-
Can we also have live music that works with your system?Absolutely! Our systems are designed to be integrated with other audio systems in a number of ways, and we would be more than happy to work with any live performers for your event.
-
Do I need to provide a list of all the songs for my event? The short answer is no; but to be more specific, it really depends on your own preference. If you would like to provide a comprehensive list of all the songs you would like to hear for your event, we can accomodate that request. Conversely, if you have a short list of songs you like, and you would like to hear, but you don't have a comprehensive list, we can fill in the blanks! We'll work with you to make sure we play the types of music you want to hear, but we'll take the work of finding the right music, so that's one less item you have to plan.
-
What's this about a "Do-Not-Playlist"?"Glad you asked! We all have songs we want to hear, but what about the songs we don't want to hear? That's where the Do-Not-Playlist comes in. You tell us anything that you know you don't like, or that you know you don't want played, and we'll make sure those don't get mixed in, even if they're requested!
-
How many songs should I plan for my Wedding Ceremony? This can vary from your wedding to the next, and that's perfectly okay, but we try to recommend having just three songs for your ceremony. 1) The wedding party entry song. 2) The bridal entry song. 3) The recessionary song for all to exit in celebration. This doesn't mean that you have to adhere to these suggestions, they're more of a guide for those who may be unsure in their plans.
-
What special music do you need to know about for my wedding? We try to keep things simple, and although we are certainly flexible, and will do our best to accomodate your desires for your wedding, we try to ask that you provide songs for some typical wedding events. • The ceremony itself (wedding party, bridal, and recessionary songs) • First Dance • Mother and Son Dance • Father and Daughter Dance
-
Do you MC and make announcements too?Yes! DJ JOE has years of ON-AIR radio experience in addition to our years of mobile DJ work, so announcements are not a problem! We try to avoid the "lime-light" and focus on you and your event, but we are very comfortable making announcements or bringing attention to some of the event information you would like for us to highlight.
-
Do you use a contract?Yes, we have two styles of contract. Our standard is used for events like school-dances or corporate events where both the start and end times are known, and our hourly-contract assumes that we know the start time, but aren't quite sure about the end time. The hourly contract is typically used for our wedding services.
-
What types of events do you perform for?Anything! We perform for weddings, school-dances, non-profit fundraisers, corporate parties, outdoor events, birthday parties, and just about anything else you can think of!
-
Do you offer event planning services? No. Unfortunately, we're unable to manage event planning at this time. We're more than happy to meet with you and discuss music, event flow, and your plans, but at this time, we're unable to offer full planning services.
